The Wrestling Match

It's so fun having a little boy.  What they say, seems to hold true, that boys are more physical.  Although, the girls love to get in on the action too.

These photos of Ashton hanging on to Jeff's hair make me laugh.  He loves to pull Jeff's hair!

Such a sweet dad!

Funny Faces

We weren't with my Dad when the family celebrated his birthday earlier in January, so he opened his present from us when I was opening my presents.  His silly faces make me laugh. :)

Ashton does not sleep well when we're away from home.  He snoozed for awhile on our drive back to Vernal.  He'd been enjoying some mini Oreo's before he fell asleep.  The look on Madison's face makes me laugh.  She often sneaks in a funny face without me even knowing till later when I look at the photos.

Bailee just informed me that I've been on my blog for too long and that it's dumb!  She also told me I've been on it for 39 hours and it's time to get off (so she can use the computer).  This child never ceases to amaze me with her sass.

Happy Birthday to Me

I had a really nice birthday weekend (hopefully the rest of the family did too).  We went to Provo on Friday and I went to my ob/gyn right when we got into town.  The appointment went really quick and easy and she was able to help me with some of my concerns.  She prescribed new bc pills for me, my body is needing more estrogen, so the new pills will help with the breakouts I've been having/hating.  The estrogen should also help with the dry eyes and lips I've been dealing with.

Here the girls are helping me open my b'day presents.

I got some Garnier products for my face, a cute wax warmer, and a couple of other things from my parents.  I got Brian Regan tickets from Jill.  Great stuff!!

Here's Jill and her fiance, Justin, after the Brian Regan show.  We laughed our tushies off!  I was sad when he left the stage.  "Please come back Brian!  Come give me a birthday hug and an autograph."  ;)  That would have been awesome.

Here's me and Jeffie. Too bad I look like I don't have any hair on the the top of my head, not very flattering.  Ha ha!

A view of the Salt Lake Temple out of the Abravanel Hall windows.  Pretty city view.

We also visited Jeff's parents on Sunday, Jeff got some photos from the visit with them on his phone, I'll post them later (if he remembers to email them to me).  We had a really nice visit with them.  A great weekend!  It just went by way too fast.

Still Small Voice

The girls were playing together in the playroom, Ashton was napping in his crib and I had a few minutes to myself.  I was unloading the dishwasher and warming up some food for dinner.  I was on auto pilot while doing my household chores and my mind started to wander.  A person came into my mind who I love very much, but don't have the easiest relationship with.  My thoughts about this person, started to head down a negative route when a thought quickly and distinctly swept into my head, "Those who are the hardest to love, need it the most."  I believe I read this quote on Facebook not too long ago.  As soon as this thought entered and I let it sink in, my heart softened.  I'm so thankful for the sweet whisperings that come to me (us).

Madison's Crazy Daizy

Madison is so excited! I finally caved and let her have her own blog.  We got it all set up last night.  Kids catch on so quick, she's doing really well with creating her posts.  I learned some new things too while helping Madison design her blog.  The name of her blog is Crazy Daizy, the address is http://madisonredford.blogspot.com/

Nothing More Precious...

than a sleeping baby.

Unless of course, that baby is wearing a poopy diaper.

Can you tell that Jeff is holding his breath???

Ash fell asleep in my arms last night, which I love, but I had to pass him over to Jeff, so I could go get all of our church clothes and bags ready for the next morning.  Jeff suggested we lay him in his crib to sleep, but with the diaper issue I didn't want him to wear it for too long since he's got a diaper rash.  Jeff was a good sport.  It doesn't happen very often, anymore, that Ashton falls asleep in our arms.  Better enjoy it while we can, odoriferous emanations and all!

Knick Knack Paddy Whack

I finally did it, I gave my little guy a hair cut.

His hair was getting pretty long in the back and behind his ears.  I find mullets to be amusing, but I don't really want Ash to have one.

It was becoming a bit of a chore to keep it looking good.

The mood struck, and I decided to pull out the clippers and give him a much needed trim.  He loves to chew on the strings of my hoodies, it kept him occupied for a second or two.

Here's lookin' at you kid!

Rear view of the new do.  The blending isn't perfect, but I think his hair looks a lot better.  Although, it does make him look older, which as mother's know, is a good thing and a sad thing.

Attempting to climb onto the table. Uh-oh here we go!!!

Oh Baby, I'm Back!!

You all probably didn't even know I was gone, but I was.  I couldn't sign into my google account.  No matter what I tried, I wasn't able to get through, until...  Today, I talked to the IT guy that is employed at the same place that my parents work at.  He was walking me through all of the steps (of things I'd already tried ;)  when all of the sudden!  Dum, dum, dummmmm!   I noticed that google.com had somehow gotten added to the list of sites to be blocked.  Don't ask me how that happened.  Yeah, I'm back, and it feels good!!  Woo hoo, hot diggity dog!!!

Computer Whiz is my name, don't wear it out. ;)

Valentine Crafts

My friend Brandi and I got together and made these fun Valentine's decorations.

This is the first time I've done decoupage, it was fun!

I bought all of the craft supplies at Dollar Tree, they had a pretty good selection of stuff.

Not a Good Combination

My birthday is coming up in a few weeks, I'll be turning 34.  To maintain my youthful appearance, my face has started breaking out.  Along with the zits I notice that I'm getting those fine lines around my eyes among other changes that occur with aging, ugh!  Pimples and lines are not a good combo, not good at all.  I told Jeff I would like to get a facial of some type for my birthday.  He informed me that it might be expensive, I informed him, that I DON'T CARE, it's my birthday.  But of course he and I both know that I will check out a couple of options we have here in Vernal and I'll make sure it doesn't cost too much.  Anyways, back to the breakouts, I don't know what is causing them.  I thought it might be because of Erin, Camilla, and Jolivette, these pretty names belong to the mini pill artificial hormones that I take every month.  The pharmacy keeps changing them up on me, so I'm wondering if that is part of the problem.  I should be switching back to normal birth control pills soon, which help with the breakouts, but alas, Ashton is still nursing, that's another story...

I also have a mild case of pcos (poly cystic ovarian syndrome), this makes it more difficult but not impossible for me to conceive children, it also gives me oily skin which in turn aids in the zit forming process.  When I was diagnosed with this, I was shocked, it's always shocking to find out there is something wrong with you.  Plus, when I was diagnosed, the doctor called it poly cystic ovarian disease, disease, DISEASE!! I-I-I have a disease?!?  I'm not sure if it's a syndrome or a disease, I vote for syndrome.  I do know it's not contagious, there is no cure and they don't know the cause.  It was a blessing to find out I have pcos.  I had always wondered why my skin was more oily than others.  I thought it was something I was doing wrong, using the wrong shampoo and facial cleaners, washing my hair and face too much or not enough.  It was a relief to find out I wasn't the cause and I just need to deal with it the best I can.  Pcos also causes me to have low blood sugar, which is very helpful to know, now I know I need to eat, drink and be merry more often or I feel very YUCKY!

Speaking of oil, I recently tried got2b rockin'it encore fresh dry shampoo.  The can says it "tunes up your do and refreshes your hair without washing it so you can rock your style one more day...or more!"  I like it, it smells good and works really well, it's a keeper!

Kids

Madison and Bailee have been such good helpers for me lately.  Ashton is just beginning to get his molars in, so unfortunately he is waking up again at night.  He had just started sleeping through the night too.  Friday night, Ash got up twice and Bailee woke me up twice because she was scared.  The first time she came in our room, she said the covers on her bed were a mess and asked me to fix them, so I did.  I was just dozing off to sleep when she came in the second time and scared the heck out of me.  That time she told me matter-of-fact that there was a ghost in her room.  I asked if she wanted to sleep on Dad's side of the bed since he was away at work.  She did, and climbed right in.  Needless to say, when Saturday morning arrived, I was quite tired.  I had also been feeling very uncomfortable during the night and had a hard time sleeping due to a uti that was just beginning.  I get them very rarely, thank goodness.  So, when Ashton went down for his morning nap, I took a nap too.  When I woke up, Madison and Bailee had cleaned up the living room and play room, gotten themselves dressed and had combed their hair and put headbands in.  I thought that was so sweet and cute, my big girls almost made me cry.

Here's Ashton playing on his most favorite toy in the house, the fireplace.  Good grief, an accident waiting to happen, I'm sure.  : (

As soon as he enters the playroom, he's headed straight for it, unless his sisters are in the room playing, then he heads straight for whatever they're occupied with, Polly Pockets, Barbies, etc.

Here's Ash peeking out of the kangaroo pouch.

The pouch was actually a bag that our new printer came in.  It was kinda cool because the printer was in the bag and you just lift it out of the box with the handles, piece a cake!

Bailee loves to sit on the counter and help me cook.  She also likes to help me clean.  She enjoys dusting off the furniture and thoroughly enjoys spraying cleaners, such as Pledge and window cleaner, then wiping it off with her cleaning rag.  I'll train her well so hopefully one day she can take over the cleaning and cooking for me! ;)

Just following in the footsteps of her domestic diva mama! (Although, I don't sit on the counter to cook).  ;)

Stuff n' Such

Last night we held Young Women's at my house.  I showed the leaders and girls how to make Stromboli.  I also asked everyone to bring items to donate to the food bank.  Here's what they brought, awesome!!  Way to go girls and leaders!

Strange but true!  Here is a photo of Ashton wearing Madison's footy pajama's.  It was Jeff's idea, we had a good giggle at the sight.

Isn't this a swell photo?  I mean look at that quality!  This is a photo of Jeff (holding Ashton), Madison and Bailee outside on New Year's Eve spraying silly string.  Madison was very excited about the string.  We had a fun time spraying it, but it ran out way too fast.

New year = New look
Lucky me, here I am getting a makeup make over.  The girls got their makeup done first, they loved it and looked pretty.  Boy do they have long eyelashes, especially once the mascara is applied. I don't know why Jeff was chuckling at my new look??  I guess because I don't normally wear blush on my entire face and black eyeshadow on my eyelids.  The girls did a pretty good job though and best of all, we had fun!

Jeff's birthday.
I was wiped out after all of our birthday fun.  We all went to see Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.  It was a cute movie.  I almost got in a fight with a sassy woman sitting behind us though.  I flashed my angry eyes at her and she quieted right down after that. :)

Crash! Bang! Crunch!

A few weeks ago, this big ole tractor came barreling down the hill Jeff was driving up.

Jeff was driving this red truck.  The guy was driving too fast and hit Jeff head on.  The tractor pushed Jeff's truck, thankfully the wheels were turned the correct way, causing Jeff's truck to head toward the mountain and not over the drop off.  No one was hurt.

Not sure what this is a picture of.

Jeff took these photos with his phone.  I told him if he emailed them to me, I'd make him famous by posting them on my blog. ;)  He's had some close calls at work, but thankfully he and others have been protected.  I pray that he will continue to be watched over in this new year and throughout his life.  I am so grateful for how hard he works for our family.
