Valentine's Day

I made some chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day.  They are pretty addicting.  It's best to take a little care when biting into the one's covered in mini chocolate chips, they can hurt the top of your mouth if you're not careful.  We all took our chances though!

Grandma Susie sent the kids cute little gift boxes full of goodies.

Madison got an owl, Bailee got a cupcake and Ashton got a dog.

We had a fun family Valentine's Day!

I made pizza for dinner.

Jeff got me some pretty roses, they smelled really good and they lasted for almost a week.

The goodies were taking over the kitchen.

Madison made me a Valentine's card at school with this photo inside, ha ha!  So cute!  She also made Jeff and I each a picture at home.  Jeff's had a heart drawing and said, "I love you more than my stuffed animals."  Mine said,"I love you more than myself."  hee hee!  Kids are so funny. :)

Road to Recovery

I took these pictures of Ashton playing with the Thomas the Train set on the day he started to finally feel better from having RSV and the ear infection.  It was a big relief to see him up and around and playing.

He was still looking fairly pale.

He started to eat food again and dump it out as well.  A sure sign he was feeling better.

Curling wand

I received a curling wand for my birthay.  It's fun and easy to use.

It does a great job of putting curls in Bailee's hair, which is fine and soft and has a hard time holding curls.  The curls last for at least a couple of days too, with maybe just a few touch ups needed.

I've curled my hair with it too.  It took longer than Bailee's since I have thicker hair, but it was fun to have a new look.

Funny Memories

Packing and more packing, that's what I've been doing lately.  Is it me, or is packing up the contents of you entire home and moving stressful?  I've been more tired than normal lately and a bit moody too.  Sorry family.  Hopefully it will get better soon!

For some reason I've had this memory in my head lately, probably because this memory is tied to a song and this annoying song is stuck in my head.  This photo was taken in August of 2011 when we went to Las Vegas for a little get away.  We had a great time playing in the pool and going bowling.  Warm weather sounds so lovely right now!

So, one hot and sunny day, we went down to the pool at our hotel, we were staying at South Point.  Madison, Bailee and I were walking together a bit ahead of Jeff and Ashton.  The girls and I headed out the door to pool area...dum, dum, dummm!  I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel a little uncomfortable walking around in my swimsuit.  I'm trying to get over this, but none the less, on this day I was feeling a tiny bit uncomfortable, especially when the live musician who was entertaining the guests with his songs in the pool area started singing a certain song.  We had just gotten out the door when I realized, "Oh, someone is singing, hmm..... that's interesting." Then he started to sing quite clear and loud...."I feel like makin' love, I feel like makin' love, feel like makin' love to you!!"  It seemed like the song went on forever and ever.  ha ha!  I don't know, but being out in a public pool with my swimsuit on, with lots of people around and hearing this song was embarrassing for me.  I would have liked to turn and run or dig a hole and jump in it, but I just had to endure it so I didn't look like a total fool.  Anyway, Jeff and I still laugh about this. :D

It was fun to look back at the photos from that trip, time sure does fly and kids grow so quickly.

Here are Jeff and Ashton playing peek-a-boo while Jeff was changing Ashton's clothes.
Ashton was 8 months old here.

What a cutie pie!

Wow, the girls are so tan.  Seems like this was just yesterday.

Still Going

I took Ashton in for a follow up visit on Friday the 8th.  He seemed even worse that day even though we'd been using the prescribed medications.  They checked his oxygen level and it was low so we had to put him on oxygen.  A lady from the home health care place came over after we got home and showed us how to use the oxygen machines.  He didn't like having it on but tolerated it for a bit from being so worn out.  He wouldn't leave it on while he was sleeping in his crib though.  He was feeling quite a bit better on Saturday and pretty well on Sunday.  He and Jeff stayed home while the girls and I went to church.  Today (Monday) he was feeling lousy again and was crying a lot.  Finally, this evening Jeff and I both thought I should take him into urgent care again.  We weren't sure if it was his respiratory system or what, but we knew something seemed to be wrong.  I took him in tonight and he has an ear infection in his right ear and his left ear is looking close to being infected as well.  I picked up his antibiotic and ear drops tonight at Walgreens.  I'm so thankful for their easy drive thru pharmacy.  Ash does not like taking medication one bit.  Between Jeff and I, we were able to get most of the rx and Tylenol into him.  He spit some out, but hopefully enough got in to help.

I'm so thankful for modern medicine, good caring doctors and nurses, and a clean and friendly medical clinic.  I'm thankful for antibiotics and for the other medical equipment that's used to administer medication and pure oxygen.

I miss my energetic, silly little boy and I hope he finally gets all better soon.

Could Be Better

We are having some rough times at the Redford house.  We found out yesterday when I took Ashton to urgent care, that he has rsv.

He's doing better with the breathing treatments.  He cried the whole time during his first treatment, but now he's a lot calmer.

Jeff broke his ankle Wednesday (the 6th) night.  He slipped on ice on the front porch as he was heading out to the garbage can.  He flew up in the air and landed on his right ankle, he hit his head as well.  His stomach is sore as well as his ribs and neck and he has a little scrap on his right elbow.

Madison took a picture of Bailee too.

It seems to work best when Jeff holds Ashton on his lap while I use the nebulizer on him.

We're going back to the doctor today for a follow up visit.

I still can't believe that Jeff has another broken ankle.  It was almost 1 year ago that he'd broken his left ankle.  At least this break isn't quite as bad as last years.

Packing

We should be moving into our new home around the beginning of March.  We've been doing some packing.  I emptied out my curio cabinet.  It was nice to get it done, since it has so many breakables in it.  Madison has been using it as a Barbie house.  Pretty cute!

Packing and moving is so much work.  At least we've got a bit of a start.
