Gross me out the door!

I hate to even say it........ earwigs, gag !  Yep, that would be them, I hate earwigs.  If I were to meet a human-sized earwig I could honestly tell him/her, "I think you're disgusting, I hope you die!"  Harsh, I know.  That wouldn't really happen though, if I saw one that large, I'd be freaking like you've never seen me freak before, and not in a good way!  I have noticed that Vernal seems to have a plethora of "them" (I often use the word "plethora" in my mind, but this is the first time I've ever actually used it).  I'm afraid if they scraped off the top layer of earth we would literally be floating on top of "them".  They think they own the place, they have an attitude and I don't like it.  I have two stories involving "them".  I hope to only have two stories during the entire span of my life, to share about "them".

Story # 1.  When I was a kid, we had a pool we'd put in our backyard every summer.  I had a nice tan going  because I played in the pool so much.  Well, one day my sister and I had been playing outside in the pool, we had our nice smelling, Downy softened, beach towels out there with us.  Little did I know.....an unwanted visitor hitched a ride on a towel and come inside our home.  I did not discover this, until late that night while sleeping.  There I was was lying on my back, asleep in my bed, when all of the sudden, I feel a bug crawling down my face, needless to say, it woke me up!  I freaked out and started smacking myself in the face!  It was a fast little bugger, it got all the way down my neck and was headed down my pajama top!  It's amazing how hard we can hit ourselves when bugs are involved.  I jumped out of bed and pulled my pj's off and eventually found the "thing".  Ewww!  Thank goodness it didn't crawl into my nose or mouth!

The victim
 (There's no way I'm posting a picture of you-know-who!)
Story # 2.  One day I was at a friends house lying on the floor watching TV.  An earwig crawled up my leg, I was wearing shorts, and it pinched the back of my thigh.  It hurt, I was annoyed and a little freaked out. The End.

*Independence Day* 2011

Excitement fills the air!  The parade is starting---Finally!

Madison giving her sign of approval while wearing baby brother's sunhat.  My family loves parades!

Madison also wearing Ashton's blanket on her head.  We mistakenly didn't bring enough sunglasses or hats to block the bright sun.  Thankfully we had Ashton's baby gear to help us out!

Me and Ashy

One of the things I love about parades is having the opportunity to give thanks to the men and women who serve in our military, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!   Also, many thanks to the other services that save our lives and help keep us safe.  I love standing with my hand over my heart, to honor our country, as the flag passes by.  God bless the USA!!!

We were hot tamales sitting in the sun.  It was so nice that they were handing out free Popsicles. :-)

Ashton lounging in Jeff's arms.  He takes a bottle from Jeff really well, it sure helps mom out.

Jeff covering Ashy's ears to block the blaring sirens and horns coming from the parade.

These horses were so big and beautiful!

My handsome guys!  Happy 4th of July!!!

Wiggin' Out!

Ashton had a growth spurt in the hair department!

Madison was going to a birthday costume party.  She was dressed up as Aquamarine from the movie "Aquamarine".  (Ashton was literally "wiggin' out" in this photo, he was ready to eat and take a nap.)

Beautiful, blond Bailee!

(Oh nice, I just noticed you can see my clothes and bra laying on the chair in the background!  I had to change in the living room the night before because Jeff was already in bed.  Early to bed, early to rise...very early, 2 am was his wake up call).

  My little rocker!

Life gets busy, but I love to take time to cuddle with my Cuddle Bunnies.  I need to do it more often.  I love these three cutie pies sooooo much!

Madison loves to cuddle up with Ashton, I'm pretty sure he likes it too!

Little Chompers!

I tried...

(turned off the flash) and tried...

to catch a photo of Ashton's two little teeth..

I finally caught a glimpse.  Madsion and I had a good time giggling while trying to get Mr. Big Boy to keep his tongue out of the way.  I can verify that his chompers work, he's tested them out on me a few times.  :-)

6 Months

Happy Half-Birthday dear Ashton!!

Ashton was born on Dec. 15, 2010
During our challenges with trying to conceive children, due to a health condition I have, we were told by one doctor that it was a miracle I was even able to become pregnant with Madison without medical aid.  I'm so grateful that we have been blessed with Three miracles!!!

He weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz and was 19 in long.   He was a wee little thing, my smallest baby!  (FYI: this is not a photo of him in his early days, this was taken last week. :)

We love our Ashton!

Ashton is such a happy and fun baby.  Madison and Bailee adore their baby brother.  They both love to hold him and often argue over who's turn it is. Madison is an awesome big sister, she is very helpful to me.  She's actually holding him at this moment so I can finish up this blog post.  Ashton looks at me, his mommy, like I'm the apple of his eye.  I love it, love it!  He is such a special little spirit!  I unconditionally love the three special spirits Heavenly Father has blessed me with!  They teach me so much and add tremendous joy to mine and Jeff's lives.

Last day of 3rd grade!

Here is Madison & the kids with Mrs. Schmelter, Madison's 3rd grade teacher.  Too be honest Madison belly-ached quite a bit throughout the year about Mrs. Schmelter.  I liked her and never had any issues.  She gave plenty of homework which wasn't always convenient, but hey, that's how it goes.  It surprised me when the last day of school came and Madison was so sad to be leaving her teacher.  She cried more over her than any of her previous teachers.  4th grade this fall, I can't believe it!

Silly Bailee enjoying herself at Madison's class program.

The next few photos are candid shots of Madison the morning of her last day of school.  School ended on May 27th.  She wasn't thrilled with me for taking pictures, but I was having a fun time. ;-)

"Come on Mom!"

There's my cute girl!
